Looking in the web for papers about insecticide resistance, I visited the website of the laboratory of Dr. Ke Dong (in the photo) at the Michigan State University. The research interests of the Dong’s Lab are focussed on the roles of ion channels and receptors in neurophysiology, neurotoxicology and insecticide resistance. Currently several exciting projects are in progress on the genetics, molecular biology, and pharmacology of voltage-gated sodium channels and the DSC1 channel from various arthropod species including Drosophila, mosquitoes, ticks and mites. Both in vitro and in vivo systems, such as Xenopus oocyte expression system and Drosophila mutants, are employed in our studies. Please visit the lab website for project details and most of all for informaton about the available post-doc position.
